Key Definitions:

  • Menopause: Menopause is one point in a continuum of life stages for women and marks the end of their reproductive years. After menopause, a woman cannot become pregnant, except in rare cases when specialized fertility treatments are used.

  • Schisandra: Schisandra berry (Schisandra chinensis) or the “the five-flavored berry,” refers to the dried mature fruit from the Schisandra chinensis plant, commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a hepatoprotectant, adaptogen, and aid to hormonal production. Schisandra berry gets it’s name from the fact that the berry holds five distinct flavor properties: bitter, sweet, sour, salty and hot.

  • Tributyrin: Tributyrin is a compound that is composed of three butyrate molecules linked to a glycerol backbone. Butyrate is a short-chain fatty acid that is produced in the gut by the fermentation of dietary fibre. Tributyrin may have potential benefits for cellular energy production by improving mitochondrial function, reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, and improving glucose metabolism.

  • Leucine: Leucine is one of the 3 essential branched chain amino acids. These amino acids can be used by skeletal muscle to give energy during exercise.

  • Noni Berry: Noni Berry enhances cellular function with proxeronine, crucial for cellular health, while its potassium content aids hydration by regulating fluid balance. Additionally, its abundance of carotenoids and polyphenols reduces inflammation and cellular damage.

  • Diatomaceous Earth: Diatomaceous Earth is made up of the fossilized remains of tiny, aquatic organisms called diatoms. These diatoms lived in the oceans and lakes millions of years ago and their skeletons have now formed into a fine powder. Diatomaceous Earth is a rich source of silica, a mineral that is essential for the health of the body's connective tissues. Silica helps to promote healthy skin, hair, and nails, and can also support the health of bones and joints.
